The Department of Climate Change and Meteorological Services of Malawi proudly announces its active participation in the upcoming Training Workshop on Climate Services for Building Climate Resilience of the Agriculture Sector in Africa using CLIMTAG. Scheduled for October 9-11, 2023, this workshop aims to enhance the climate resilience and food security of our nation by equipping stakeholders with vital climate information services tailored specifically for the agricultural sector.

This event marks a significant step forward in our efforts to support smallholder farmers, who are the backbone of our economy and food security. Through interactive sessions and practical applications of the CLIMTAG tool, participants will gain insights into generating actionable climate indices for local adaptation planning. This initiative is part of our ongoing commitment to ensure that agricultural policies and practices are informed by reliable and accessible climate information, thereby fostering a resilient agricultural sector capable of withstanding the challenges posed by climate variability and change.

We encourage all stakeholders, including government officials, local NGOs, meteorological services, and agricultural experts, to join us in this crucial workshop. Together, we can pave the way for a sustainable agricultural future in Malawi and beyond, armed with the knowledge and tools to make informed decisions in the face of climate uncertainty.
